Education Minister urges politicians to consider wage scale as humanitarian issue

Education Minister Elias Bou Saab said on Wednesday there were no new developments regarding the wage scale issue, noting that no legislative session will be held to adopt the series of ranks and salaries.

"The political crisis is affecting the education sector," Bou Saab said during a press conference following talks with the Union Coordination Committee.

He also urged lawmakers to lay their disputes aside and consider the wage scale as a humanitarian issue, and said: "The educational file should be set at a distance from political differences".

In this regard, Bou Saab hoped the political parties will tackle the wage scale with Speaker Nabih Berri so that official exams so as to facilitate the correction of state official exams.
