Drug smuggling attempt from Brazil into Lebanon thwarted

The airport’s Customs Services and police inspectors thwarted on Thursday an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of drugs from Brazil into Lebanon.

In the details, members of the police department suspected the contents of a suitcase of a man with initials H.A., born in 1987, arriving from Brazil via Doha.

After thoroughly searching the suitcase, police discovered two kilos of drugs and 130 grams of cocaine stashed at the bottom of the luggage.

The smuggler carefully packed the drugs so it can be difficult for authorities to detect them.

The suspect was referred to the anti-narcotic department for further investigation.
