Prime Minister Tammam Salam met on Wednesday with Head of the Finance and Budget committee, MP Ibrahim Kanaan, who highlighted the necessity of holding an extraordinary legislative session to shed light on pending financial matters.
In this regard, Kanaan said that Lebanon's financial reputation will be at stake should the political deadlock persist.
During the meeting held at the Grand Serail, Salam and Kanaan discussed the issue do the ranks and salaries scale, calling on all the parties to abstain from politicizing the matter at hand.
Earlier in the day, Salam met with a delegation of the Lebanese Communist Party, headed by the party’s Secretary General Khaled Hdadeh.
Separately, the PM also met with a delegation from the Arab Council for the Reconstruction of Gaza headed by former Minister Beshara Merhej.
Mufti of Baalbeck-Hermel, Sheikh Khaled Solh was also among the Prime Minister’s visitors.
