Berri: We are clinging to every drop of oil

Speaker Nabih Berri said on Wednesday that the region is witnessing a dangerous conspiracy known as the Wider Middle East project, a conspiracy taking advantage the sectarian, confessional and racial factors.

Following his meeting with the honorary consul Joseph Habeis, Berri said that Lebanon has many choices, adding that so far it has chosen to distance itself from the “vices”.

“The sectarian conspiracy will not gain ground in Lebanon”, Berri said.

Berri noted that a large quantity of oil and gas is present in the coastal waters from Damour to Amchit according to scientific studies, adding that Lebanon is clinging to every “drop of oil” and will not allow Israel to inflict damage on Lebanon as it did on Gaza.
