Dahr Al Baydar road sees another near-fatal truck accident

A refrigerated truck lost control in Dahr Al Baydar on Friday night due to icy conditions on the roads. This incident is only one in a long string of incidents that are occurring due to truck drivers’ negligence of safety regulations that forbid trucks from crossing these streets during the night until 9 a.m.

The accident damaged the truck while pedestrians were spared an imminent disaster. The ISF diverted traffic to avoid further accidents of this sort.

Truck owners opposed the measures aimed at preventing trucks from going on the road due to ice, saying that these measures contradict the statements made by the Public Works Ministry that it is sending salt trucks onto the streets.   

Day after day, these kinds of problems are exacerbated on Dahr Al Baydar international road. The lack of commitment truck drivers show to abiding by road instructions, the ice, snow, the narrow road and the lack of road signs or adequate lighting are all cumulative factors that cause dangerous accidents on Dahr Al Baydar road.
