Snow covered on Wednesday the highlands and mountainous regions across Lebanon, blocking most roads as storm "Zeina" continued to batter the country. The fierce storm has also caused massive damages to properties and plastic agricultural tents, while high winds, reaching up to 90 km/hour, have toppled billboards and damaged cars. Internet and power were also knocked out in parts of the country. For his part, Minister of Education Elias Bou Saab said that if the storm will continue with the same intensity, the schools will also be closed on Thursday, adding that the Ministry will wait for the weather forecast to decide accordingly. On Tuesday, the storm compelled Minister of Education Elias Bou Saab to announce the closure of all public and private schools across Lebanon today (Wednesday). The Department of Meteorology at Beirut International Airport said snow is expected to fall at 600m altitudes with possible snow showers at 400m in some regions, mainly in North Lebanon.
