Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil referred to the public prosecution the case pertaining to frozen shrimp batches found across the Lebanese markets and that do not conform to the required conditions.
The violations detected in this file concern tax evasion, as well as lack of hygiene, as bacteria was found in the product, according to the report issued by the research center.
In this context, the minister called for launching an investigation in the case at the customs department and interrogating all those suspected of being involved in the neglect, attempted cover-up, and nationwide distribution without prior inspection.
