MP Kanaan to LBCI: Electoral law issue unresolved given lack of political will

Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan said the next Lebanese president shall, at least, represent the people, honor the constitution and the principle of democracy.

“Correcting the defect falls in the interest of the Christian-Muslim national partnership that we seek to preserve through the Taef accord,” Kanaan said in a phone call with LBCI’s Nharkom Said TV Show on Sunday.

“The electoral law issue has not been addressed thus far given the lack of political will,” he concluded.
