The Lebanese army said on Tuesday that it apprehended five fugitive criminals during raids in the Bekaa town of Brital. Three of the criminals are wanted for involvement in shootings that wounded several citizens, the military added. The Lebanese army noted in a communiqué that it seized light arms, ammunition, drugs and two vehicles. During the raids, the armed men opened fire on the soldiers, who fired back, slightly injuring Abbas Hussein Tleis, one of the wanted suspects, the communiqué stated. The arrestees were transferred to the concerned authorities to act accordingly.
