Social Affairs Minister Derbass calls for swift election of new president

Social Affairs Minister Rashid Derbass said Thursday that the general situation in Lebanon is dangerous, and that Arsal should not be singled out.

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Derbass explained that Prime Minister Tammam Salam has not yet called for a cabinet session "in a bid to make the concerned parties realize the repercussions resulting from the obstruction of the government" and hence pave the way for agreement over rival issues.

On another note, the minister stressed the need to elect a new president the soonest possible.
