Former Prime Minister Najib Mikati expressed gratitude to Britain for its constant keenness on helping Lebanon overcome the current difficult situation, mainly regarding the support granted to the Lebanese Armed Forces and concerning the issue of the Syrian refugees and the hosting communities in Lebanon.
While receiving British Ambassador to Lebanon Tom Fletcher in a farewell visit, Mikati hailed Fletcher's support in all fields, especially during his mandate as a Prime Minister.
For his part, Fletcher appreciated Mikati’s cooperation and wisdom in serving Lebanon’s higher interest, noting that the country has faced great challenges over the past four years.
He also expressed his confidence in the Lebanese people and the capabilities of the Lebanese army.
On another note, former PM Mikati had called MP Sleiman Frangieh to praise his stances launched during his recent press conference.
