Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea stressed that the military institution stands as "the only legitimate force that can protect the Lebanese people from any potential threat."
“I regret that the Lebanese army’s seventieth anniversary passed in the absence of a president who should have promoted a new batch of officers,” he said.
In this regard, Geagea called on the Lebanese people to stand united by the military institution amid the presidential vacuum and the institutional paralysis currently prevailing over the country.
