Kataeb party chief MP Sami Gemayel stressed Monday that the election of a new president is the only means to “get rid” of the current cabinet and to pass a new electoral law to elect a new parliament and form a new government.
He noted that calling for the resignation of the cabinet and overthrowing the regime will not lead to the change the Lebanese people aspire to achieve.
In a press conference, Gemayel insisted on maintaining what was left of the public institutions in order to help the Lebanese people.
The deputy added that the Kataeb party represents the voice of those who took to the streets to express rejection to the failure of the cabinet in handling important national issues.
In this regard, he stressed the need to hold the officials accountable for the situation of the Lebanese citizens, hoping that public opinion will continue to express its views.
