Hundreds of Bedouins live on the banks of al-Ghazil River in Anjar, with a lifestyle that may strike the region’s residents as being unconventional.        

Compared to the harried life of sedentary citizens, the life of a Bedouin eating and sleeping in simple tents may seem like a welcome departure from the stressors of life. However, this simple life is not free of its own brand of daily difficulties. Just recently the life of a small infant, Rateb Junaid, was taken by the waters of a local river where he drowned.
