Sheikh Qabbalan: keep LAF out of political disputes

Deputy President of the Islamic Shiite Supreme Council, Sheikh Abdul Amir Qabbalan urged Friday all politicians not to drag the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) into political disputes that would harm their image and pave the way for Israel to gain an advantage over them.

“Lebanese should rally around the LAF and Resistance for the tripartite equation “people-army-resistance” is the salvation of Lebanon against conspiracies plotted by the hostile intelligence services that seek to plunge Lebanese into chaos and destruction”, Qabbalan said.

Sheikh Qabbalan also called on the ministers to close ranks and to open dialogue to resolve their differences, away from media that would spur them into deeper conflicts, adding that the Lebanese rely on the government to ease their burden.
