After years of waiting, women finally make their way into the ISF

610 young girls were selected among 11,000 female volunteer applicants for the Internal Security Forces. The ISF had earlier announced its will to recruit female volunteers.

200 young women attended two-month training sessions with the assistance of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement of the Department of State, a step taken for the first time within the institution.

Young women aged between 18 and 26 years old attended training sessions for two months, overcame their difficulties and reached their goals.

As for the controversial issue of the veil, a final decision was taken: when on duty, young girls are prohibited from wearing any kind of religious symbol.
