Aridi to LBCI: Lebanon is in need of wise men in government

Minister of Public Works Ghazi Aridi said on Friday that the communication channels must remain open, especially in critical conditions, adding that any escalation attempt affects the whole atmosphere.

Aridi told LBCI that the release of Lebanese hostages in Syria is an occasion that opened communication channels. These channels must remain open if we wanted to save the country, he added.

“Lebanon is in need of wise men in the government”, Aridi said.

Aridi stressed that only the language of reason, wisdom and understanding will save Lebanon. “Those who are tense contribute in fueling the strife that we want to get rid of”, he said.

Aridi said that communication with Hezbollah, House Speaker Berri and all other officials was not halted in the previous phase.
