Mansour: Lebanon has overcome tragedy of cluster bombs

Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour said Friday that Lebanon represents the most recent example of the devastating impact cluster bombs have had in the region, adding that, according to the U.N., Israel dropped more than 4 million cluster bombs in southern Lebanon during the last 72 hours of the Lebanese July war.

During a press conference Mansour spoke on the second conference of the Cluster Bomb Agreement signatories, to be held next Monday, saying, “Lebanon is amongst the countries that have sustained the most cluster bomb damage”, adding Lebanon managed to turn the cluster bomb tragedy into victory through cooperation established between residents, LAF, NGOs and the concerned national and state institutions.
