Gemayel: Hezbollah political and sectarian arms harm sovereignty

The Head of the Kataeb party Amin Gemayel said that only when sovereignty is attained will the Lebanese government be able to extend its authority on all its territories, during a Kataeb party press conference.

Gemayel highlighted the danger that stems from the presence of weapons in the hands of Hezbollah and Palestinian factions.

“Hezbollah’s arms are political, sectarian and partisan arms that are harmful to Lebanon’s sovereignty, stability and national unity”, Gemayel added.

Gemayel stressed that the issue of funding the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) should not be put to a vote, rather it should be adopted with the consent of all ministers.

Gemayel called for reconsidering educational programs that should take into account modern times’ imperatives as well as the conflict arising between teachers, parents and educational institutions’ owners.
