Charbel from Yammouneh: I will tackle cannabis-related issues in Monday's cabinet session
Interior Minister Marwan Charbel stressed that he will take advantage of Monday’s cabinet session to raise the issue of cannabis crops destruction, noting he has three proposals regarding granting compensations to the residents.

During a press conference he held in Yammouneh when he visited the town and met with the residents, charbel said: “I stand by the Lebanese state and people and I pledge to you that I will seriously tackle this issue starting Monday”.

Charbel arrived on Sunday to Yammouneh to address cannabis-related issues that led to the blocking of the town's roads where the residents continued their protest against the destruction of cannabis crops.

In a statement to LBCI, the residents decried the decision to destroy cannabis crops, calling for securing an alternative to this agriculture to guarantee their livelihoods.
