Interior Minister: Representation of women in peace and security decision-making is still modest
Minister of Interior Raya al-Hassan asserted on Thursday that the representation of women in the peace and security decision-making is still modest in the world, despite the developments made in this regard.
 
Al-Hassan’s comments were made during a round table discussion at the Swedish Interior Ministry in Stockholm whereby she noted that women’s participation in the peace building process “is essential for the implementation of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development.”
 
This as the minister met with her Swedish counterpart, calling her country to play a bigger role in providing aid "not only for the Syrian refugees in Lebanon but for the host communities also."
