Head of the Finance and Budget Committee MP Ibrahim Kanaan stressed Wednesday that “describing the work of the parliament as theatrical is completely rejected.”
Following the committee’s meeting, Kanaan the state’s credibility depends on the monitoring role played by the Finance and Budget Committee, noting that if it were not for passing the 2017 budget, the Cedre conference would not have been held.
He explained that today’s meeting was dedicated to discussing the Article 22 related to the revenue tax, pointing out that no one is in favor of this article as it is, pending proposals to resolve the issue of the retirees.
