Alain Aoun to LBCI: opposition only has “Syrian crisis card to play in Lebanon”
Change and Reform bloc MP Alain Aoun said on Wednesday that the bloc took a clear position regarding the case of former Minister Michel Samaha, stressing that the case is in the hands of the Judiciary, “we leave it to do its job”, he said.

Speaking to Nharkom Said, Aoun slammed the quick political accusation, noting that the bloc has not yet been informed of the course of the investigation and that the opposition only has the “Syrian crisis card to play in Lebanon’s political game”.

Aoun pointed that, in case Samaha’s accusations are proved with facts, it would be a very dangerous situation where relations must be reconsidered.

“If it was revealed that someone is involved, whether a Lebanese citizen or a Syrian national, the cabinet will take necessary measures. Lebanon should not take a side regarding the Syrian crisis; instead, Lebanon should distance itself from the events in the country”, Aoun added.

Aoun explained that the relation with Syria’s ruler must be positive, hoping that the crisis will end soon.
