Mufti Qabbani: Lebanon’s salvation lies in a just electoral law

Mufti of the Republic, Mohammad Rachid Qabbani stressed on Sunday that the deteriorating situation in Lebanon is blamed on every Lebanese citizen that has and still is accepting injustice in his country.

In his sermon on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Qabbani confirmed that dragging Lebanon into clashes spilled over from surrounding conflict-hit areas is “unacceptable and forbidden”.

Commenting on the electoral law, Qabbani said “Lebanon’s salvation lies in an electoral law that secures true and just representation of all the Lebanese”.

PM Najib Mikati were among the prayers.

Following the sermon, Qabbani, along with Mikati and several officials, headed for the tomb of Matryr Rafik Hariri.
