Solemn farewell to Khalil Hajjar, dead in tragic accident in Jal el-Dib

Death stories taking place on roads are often surreal: a man standing on the side of the road could be hit by a speeding car, while a man driving slowly could be killed by an uncontrolled truck. The story of Khalil Hajjar is one of them, a man in his thirties killed by a young man driving with high speed.

Few months ago, Khalil returned to Lebanon from Barcelona to live with his small family: his wife, the actress May Sahab and his daughter Yanadi. He travelled to Spain in 2008 where he graduated with a degree in fashion photography. However, after his daughter was born, he was inspired by child photography, after years of working as director and producer in Lebanon and the Arab world.

Today, Khalil Hajjar is only a picture placed on a wooden coffin at the Church of St. Anthony of Latin in Horj Tabet, where prayers were held in presence of his relatives and friends.
