Introduction to the evening news 23-09-2012
March 14 and March 8 have succeeded again in deepening the division among the Lebanese.

Even the assassination attempts became an alibi to expand this division.

After the March 8 bloc criticized the assassination attempts of LF leader Samir Geaega and MP Boutros Harb, the same scenario was repeated today information circulated that General Michel Aoun’s convoy was hit by gunshots in Sidon on its way back from Jezzine Saturday evening.

The Lebanese people are divided again. Some believed the story, others didn’t as security sources reported that the cameras in Sidon did not capture any security convoy passing in the area, while pictures of Aoun’s shot vehicle were revealed.

The investigations were launched since last night and the circumstances remain unknown.

However, this incident proved that the Lebanese people became so numb to the idea of death, that they no longer fear it.

Tripoli’s incidents became a “routine” as gunfire was exchanged tonight between Jabal Mohsen and the Riva area, causing the injury of one citizen.

As for the Syrian crisis, the Syrian opposition held a meeting in Damascus and called for the complete fall of Assad’s regime.

For their part, special envoy Lakhadar Brahim and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon urged the international leaders to work on improving the humanitarian situation in Syria during the UN general assembly next Tuesday.

Benjamin Netanyahu will also profit from attending the UN general assembly and promised today that he will tell the world that “Iran does not have the right to own nuclear weapons.”

Iran’s response to this statement was by threatening the Israeli state of hitting the US military bases in Bahrain, Qatar and Afghanistan.
