Berri: promising quantities of oil and gas in Lebanon

Chairing the periodic Wednesday meeting with MPs, the Speaker Nabih Berri shed light on the coming elections as well as the electoral law.

Deputies quoted the speaker as highlighting the necesity of the joint committees to finalize this dossier in the nearest possible.

Berri stressed that any law must be in line with what was stipulated in the Taef Accord pointing out that he will not be against any formula agree upon by Christians.

Participants in the meeting discussed various other points including oil and gas issues.

In this regard, Berri mentioned that new surveys and studies show that promising quantities of oil and gas are availabne in more than one point of the Lebanese water.
