Canada adds Lebanon on list of sanctions

Canada adds Lebanon on list of sanctions

Lebanon has been added to the list of sanctions imposed by Canada in order “to prevent the concealment and transfer of funds or assets used to finance terrorism. These allow specified measures to be applied to listed terrorist entities.”

The list also includes the following countries:

Central African Republic

Democratic Republic of the Congo

Iran

Iraq

Libya

Mali

Myanmar

Nicaragua

North Korea

Russia

Somalia

South Sudan

Sudan

Syria

Ukraine (linked to Russia’s ongoing violations of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity)

Venezuela

Yemen

Zimbabwe
