Identity of person who threw bomb threat fliers revealed

The director of the U.N. Information Center, Bahaa al Qawsi, said that fliers reading “An explosion is about to happen”, hand written in red, were found in the Gefinor commercial center in Clemenceau at 2 p.m on Monday.

Al Qawsi told Al-Hayat daily that the security officers working in the building found the fliers thrown in the main entrance. They informed U.N. staff who immediately cleared the building. Al Qaswi added that after reviewing the security tapes, the identity of the person who deliberately threw these fliers was revealed.

The surveillance cameras clearly show the man carrying a box, while entering the building, that he later on delivers to a company that sells medical equipment.

“Bomb experts examined the box and did not find any suspicious material in it”, al Qawsi said, adding “everyone panicked and employees were asked not to return to their offices until things returned to normal”.
