Kfarhazir Committee: To declare Koura as a region afflicted with cancer, heart disease

The Kfarhazir Environmental Committee called on Friday on the occasion of the Arab Environment Day for “declaring the Koura district as a region afflicted with cancer, heart disease and mass environmental destruction as a result of the barbaric crime committed by Cement factories in Chekka and al-Herri,” urging “the prosecution of their owners under the laws of genocide against Koura people and the laws of committing massacres against humanity and nature.”

The committee also called for “preventing the use of coal and petroleum products in these factories,” stressing the need to “establish popular environmental teams in order to save Lebanon from deadly environmental suffering.”
