LAF chief holds a series of meetings in the US-[PHOTOS]

Lebanese Armed Forces Commander Major General Jospeh Aoun continued on Thursday his meetings with top US officials as part of his official trip to the United States.

Aoun held a meeting with Chairwoman of the House GOP Budget Committee Kay Granger. He also met with the American-Lebanese Friendship Association, which includes lawmakers of Lebanese origin, including Darin Lahood and Darrell Issa.

The LAF chief had as well a meeting with Senator Chris Murphy and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Senator Bob Menendez and a member of the committee, Senator James Risch, as well as Senator John Ossoff.

The discussions centered on the situation in Lebanon and its impacts on the military institution.

They discussed also ways to help and support the army so that it can pass this delicate stage that Lebanon is going through.

The importance of Lebanon’s stability in terms of security was also emphasized during the discussions, with praise for the army’s role in maintaining security despite the severe and hard conditions the soldiers were going through.
