Karaki meets head of National Federation of Worker and Employee Trade Unions
Lebanon's National Social Security Fund General Director Mohammad Karaki received on Monday a delegation from the National Federation of Worker and Employee Trade Unions headed by Castro Abdullah, accompanied by members of the executive office Shehadeh al-Masry and Ali Ayoub, as well as official in charge of international relations Ghassan Hijazi.

The meeting dealt with the country's current issues, especially those affecting health and social security, labor issues and the most prominent challenges they face.

Furthermore, they discussed ways to protect purchasing power of end-of-service benefits, the need to raise minimum wage, provided that this increase includes all sectors amid the increase in all bills and consumer materials and services such as food, electricity, transportation and schools.

Regarding the labor issues, the delegation presented a list of demands.

For his part, Karaki promised to do everything that would mitigate the impact of the crisis on all workers, and concluded by saying that “the government should carry out its duties.”
