Tourism Minister Nassar briefs PM Mikati on Pope visit preparations

Prime Minister Najib Mikati met on Thursday with head of the Supreme Committee for the preparations of the Stay of the Supreme Pontiff, Minister of Tourism Walid Nassar at the Grand Serail.

 

Nassar briefed Mikati on the ongoing preparations for the Pope’s visit to Lebanon scheduled on June 12 and 13, as well as on the drat program of the visit.

 

Following the meeting, Minister Nassar said that the process of holding preparatory meetings with the Council of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops is ongoing, before announcing the formation of the main and subsidiary committees for the visit, and before moving on to the start of operational preparations, pending final agreement with the Holy See on the visit program.
