Head of Budget and Finance Committee MP Ibrahim Kanaan stressed on Saturday that the problem in Lebanon is in the failure to implement and respect the laws.
Kanaan made his comments during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show on LBCI, whereby he indicated that we need to stop being "populism" and move towards serious matters, noting that at this stage we need to be more productive.
He went on to explain that the government must complete the rescue plan and the bank restructuring file, adding that it is unacceptable to continue to procrastinate.
"We must also ask ourselves, what have we done as a state? Did we promote corruption or did we support reform? Did we enforce the laws or did we manipulate them?" Kanaan enquired.
He then pointed out that our current situation is a result of government and monetary policy.
