Wahhab: Severe measures should be taken in the wake of Arsal incident

Arab Tawhid Party Leader Wiam Wahhab said on Monday that he tackled with the Head of Change and Reform Bloc MP Michel Aoun the "aggression against the Lebanese army in Arsal" and called on those who do not want to protect the prestige of the army to step away.

"The prestige of the LAF is our own own; even PM Najib Mikati cannot head to his residence if he were not protected by the LAF," Wahhab said.

Wahhab hoped that authorities would comply with the promises that President Michel Sleiman and LAF Commander General Jean Kahwaji made to the family of the Late Major Pierre Bachaalany.

"The attack against the Lebanese army was not solitary; there is a chain of events that led to this massacre," Wahhab said.

Wahhab called for taking severe measures in the wake of the Arsal incident.
