Hariri links death of Gaddafi to Syria
Former PM Saad Hariri considered the death of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi as the imminent end of all tyrants and should be a lesson for the remaining despotic regimes and pointedly wished for the Syrian people’s victory over their oppressive regime.

In a statement issued by Hariri’s office on Thursday, Hariri said that, in light of the Syrian events, no Arab citizen can sit idle while Syrians are suffering.

“The Syrians deserve to be awarded for their bravery and for standing in the face of an oppressive regime that has been ruling for the past several decades”, the statement added.

Hariri criticized the stance of the Lebanese government that is sympathizing with the Syrian regime when he said, “Lebanon was always a pioneer in liberties, democracy and human rights, therefore it is shameful for the Lebanese government to stand by an oppressive regime such as the Syrian one.”
