Patriarch Laham calls on Pope Francis to help the Syrian people

Patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church Gregorios III Laham called Wednesday on Pope Francis to help the Syrian people "in light of the crisis which has lead to the death of countless people in the country and which is posing a threat to countries in the region".

“We are not afraid of Muslims, we are afraid of the chaos. Syria has become a place for striking deals; we’ve had enough of the crisis and of kidnappings. We’ve lost all sorts of democracy,and freedom,” Patriarch Laham said.
