President Sleiman tackles the case of the Lebanese hostages in Aazaz

President Michel Sleiman called Wednesday on Turkey to exert more pressure in order to release the Lebanese who were kidnapped in Syria’s Aazaz.

In this context, President Sleiman received Turkish Minister of Transport Aalderim Biennale in Baabda’s Presidential Palace, stating that “such pressure improves the relations between Turkey and Lebanon at all levels”, praising the Turkish contribution in deploying the international forces in Southern Lebanon.

For his part, the Turkish Minister hoped that the bilateral cooperation will last on the economic level, and promised to tackle the Lebanese stance in regards to the kidnapped with the Turkish officials.

Eleven  Lebanese pilgrims were kidnapped on their way back from Iran by insurgents hoping to use them for a prisoner swap on the 20th of May. Only two have so far been released.
