Caretaker Minister Charbel follows up on conditions of Syrian refugees in Lebanon

Caretaker Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel presided on Tuesday the meeting of the security committee tasked to oversee the conditions of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

The meeting aimed at enhancing the mission of the committee, mainly by urging the municipalities to carry out the necessary statistics of the refugees and submitting them to the Ministry each week.

The United Nations said in mid-April that the number of Syrian refugees flocking into Lebanon is estimated at 450,000, and the inflow surpasses the capacity of the country by all means.

The largest surge of Syrian refugees has been seen in North Lebanon.
