MP Rahme: Maronite seat in Baalbek fortifies presence of Catholics and Maronits in Bekaa

Change and Reform bloc MP Emil Rahme stressed on Thursday that his seat in Baalbek-Hermel is "beyond his bloc's interest and his personal interest", pointing out that he may 'win or lose the battle' when the new electoral law is adopted.

In an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV Show, MP Rahme said that the Maronite seat in Baalbek was underpinning, since 1951, the presence of the Catholic and the Maronite community in Bekaa, noting that the number of Deputies that shifted from 108 to 128 was a "crime", adding that it did not serve the Christians' interest in the country.
