Italy Minister of Defense meets with Lebanese officials

President Michel Sleiman met on Thursday with Italian Minister of Defense Mario Mauro who hailed the role of President Sleiman in distancing Lebanon from the regional crisis by abiding by the Baabda declaration.

Discussions also tackled the Syrian refugees file in Lebanon and the cooperation between both countries on all levels.

The Italian Minister also met with the caretaker Minister of Defense Fayez Ghosn and discussed Italy's contribution to the UNIFIL troops.

As well, the visiting minister held talks with the Lebanese Army Chief Jean Kahwagi in regards to ways of improving military cooperation between both countries.
