Lebanon vows action after journalists targeted in Israeli strikes

Lebanon will not accept the targeting of journalists as normal, Lebanese Minister of Information Paul Morcos said during a press conference Saturday, emphasizing the importance of national unity.

He said practical steps have been taken, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to file a complaint with the United Nations Security Council regarding attacks on journalists. The ministry has provided all available information on the incidents to the foreign ministry, and the case will be pursued as needed.

“These steps are in honor of Lebanon’s martyrs and rely on international laws protecting journalists,” the minister said, adding that there is no intention to waive these legal protections.

The conference also observed a moment of silence for the journalists who were killed.
