Lebanese army confirms Israeli strike kills three in Ain Saadeh, calls for restraint

On April 5, 2026, at around 9:00 p.m., an apartment in the Ain Saadeh area of Metn was struck by an Israeli attack involving two GBU-39 bombs, which can be launched from aircraft or naval vessels, as part of the wider assault on Lebanon, the Lebanese army confirmed in a statement.

A specialized unit from the Lebanese army arrived at the scene and conducted a field survey to collect evidence. Investigators found that the bombs penetrated the building’s roof and the fourth floor before exploding on the third floor. The strike killed three residents of the floor and injured others.

Initial investigations also confirmed that there were no new tenants in the building.

Authorities reported that one individual was seen leaving the building on a motorcycle immediately after the attack. Investigations are ongoing to determine his identity and clarify the circumstances of the incident.

The Lebanese army called on the public to avoid speculation about the attack and urged citizens to exercise caution and responsibility as investigations continue.
