Berri: Lebanon included in US-Iran ceasefire, Israel must comply

Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri confirmed to Asharq Al-Awsat that Lebanon is included in the U.S.-Iran ceasefire agreement. He noted, however, that while Israel has generally adhered to the ceasefire across Lebanon, its forces have not fully respected it in the south, in violation of the agreement.

Berri emphasized that the agreement clearly covers all of Lebanon and that this must be implemented.

He revealed that he contacted Pakistani officials to report Israel’s non-compliance and requested that they coordinate with the United States to pressure Israel.

Berri added that he remains in contact with multiple parties involved in the matter, and that Lebanon is part of the ceasefire. However, he did not rule out the possibility that Israel, as the party most affected, could attempt to undermine the agreement.
