Trump hopes for "good behavior" from Hezbollah, signals possible turning point for Lebanon

U.S. President Donald Trump expressed hope that Hezbollah would "behave properly" during what he described as a critical period, suggesting that developments could mark a turning point for Lebanon.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump said it "could be a historic day for Lebanon," adding that "good things are happening."

He stressed the need to end violence, saying there must be "no more killing" and that peace should ultimately prevail.

Speaking at an event in Las Vegas, Trump also addressed the ongoing conflict involving Iran, describing U.S. military operations as progressing “very well” and asserting that the American military remains the strongest in the world.

He characterized the war as proceeding “smoothly,” saying the United States can achieve its objectives.

Trump added that the conflict with Iran could end “very soon,” praising what he called the “perfect” performance of U.S. forces. He said he had not wanted to go to war but argued it was necessary to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

He also claimed that the destruction of Iran’s fleet is "a reality on the ground."
