British Jono Lancaster was born with Treacher Collins’ disorder, an extremely rare genetic condition which prevents the skull, jawbones and cheeks from developing fully. Lancaster decided to dedicate his life to provide support for people born with the same genetic condition, wherever they are.


He traveled to Australia last month to meet Zachary, a child born with Treacher Collins following the request of the boy's mother who contacted him via Facebook knowing that he was planning a trip to Australia.

“He [Jono]’s a huge inspiration,” she told the Adelaide Advertiser.


“I grew up with Treacher Collins and I kind of felt like I was on my own and I felt like I was the only one out in the world that was like me,” he said. “I would have loved to have met somebody like myself when I was younger.”

Lancaster will now pursue his journey across the country to support and inspire other children who live with Treacher Collins syndrome.
