Arab committee meets in Doha to discuss Syria sanctions

An Arab committee on Syria began a meeting on Saturday in Doha to look into the sanctions against Syria suggested by experts.       

The Deputy Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed bin Hilli, told AFP before the meeting that this committee will look into a report prepared by experts about a series of Arab sanctions against Syria.       

On whether Syria is still refusing to sign the Arab League’s protocol to send observers to Syria, Bin Hilli said: “contacts with Syria continue, and the door remains half open”.
