Prince Turki al-Faisal: KSA may seek to acquire nuclear weapons

Prince Turki al-Faisal, the former Saudi head of intelligence hinted Monday at the possibility of KSA seeking to acquire nuclear weapons, given that the world failed to convince both Israel and Iran to abandon them.      

Al-Faisal told the participants at the “Gulf & the world” conference in Riyadh that their efforts and the world’s efforts have failed to convince Israel to abandon its weapons of mass destruction, as well as Iran’s acquisition of the same weapons.        

“Saudi Arabia must look into all the available options, including its acquisition of such weapons”, he said.       

Faisal said that we must heed to the internal situation in Saudi Arabia, think about its future and carry out the necessary reforms on all levels to immunize the domestic scene.             

“There will be no room for effective foreign affairs in the absence of an effective domestic scene”, Faisal said.
