Oil chemist killed in Iraq

Seven people, including an oil chemist, have been killed in a series of violent attacks in Iraq. Two of the victims died in Kirkuk. Hussein Mohsen Maqsud, a Turkoman chemical specialist who worked for the State North Oil company, was killed by a bomb planted in his car.

Another civilian was killed in an armed attack in the north of the city. A member of the anti al-Qaeda militia was also killed in an armed attack, which took place at a checkpoint at Saidiyah, south of Baghdad.
