NATO: Gaddafi still capable of leading loyalist troops
A NATO spokesperson said Tuesday that Colonel Muammar Gaddafi is still capable of leading his troops in Libya, adding that Gaddafi’s whereabouts are still unknown.

“Gaddafi is still capable of leading his troops, deploying weapons and launching ground-to-ground missiles”, military spokesman Colonel Roland Lavoie said.

NATO military operations in Libya began days after the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 1973 authorizing member states to use all necessary measures to protect civilians in Libya. Leading NATO members including the United States, Britain and France have demanded that Gaddafi leave power and recognized the National Transition Council as the legitimate representatives of the Libyan people.
